Career Lattice

The Gateways to Opportunity Career Lattice will help you become knowledgeable about the “big picture” in the early care and education field in Illinois. The Gateways Career Lattice will help you learn how the various positions in the field fit together and understand the specific training and education needed to take advantage of the many early care and education opportunities in Illinois.


The Career Lattice was developed by the Professional Development Advisory Council (PDAC) for Gateways to Opportunity at the request of the State of Illinois. The Gateways Career Lattice depicts six levels, ranging from noncredit community-based training through completion of a graduate degree.
