Gateways Credential Entitlement InformationGateways to Opportunity currently administers three statewide credentials that validate the knowledge and skills of ECE practitioners: Credentials may be earned by attending a college or university that is an entitled institution through Gateways to Opportunity. An entitled institution has aligned their coursework with specific credential benchmarks (based on state and national standards) and meets additional credential requirements through coursework. Graduates from an entitled institution will attain a degree and a credential that is recognized by the state of Illinois.
